CODE: Description:

FGD02 Paulownia fortunei GD Select

Derived from Guangdong and further developed in Australia, this variety or related selections have made up the bulk of Paulownia plantings in Australia to date (mostly in temperate to sub-tropical zones). We have also supplied this variety to tropical zones and received a report they grew to 8 metres tall with an 8cm diameter at 1.2m in the first 18months. Reliable, robust and adaptable to a wide range of soil and climate. Good trunk form for rapid timber production. In spring mature trees are covered with large purple, fading to cream, trumpet shaped flowers with violet-like perfume.

TG20A Paulownia kawakamii Sapphire Select

This is a high grade new release developed by TGG with strong straight early form requiring very minimal pruning to obtain a 5m (16ft) + butt log which thickens fast after the canopy fills out. Suitable for both timber and ornamental plantings in temperate to tropical zones. Masses of bright sapphire blue frilly trumpet flowers in late spring and lush green foliage.

TGG probably has the largest collection of Paulownia genetics outside of China. The varieties listed above are currently under large scale production in our nursery, but we can grow other species and hybrid cultivars to suit your location and site if needed - just let us know your requirements.
